Luke Vincent Blanco is a Chicago-based musician and sound designer specializing in live performance, audio production, film scoring, and location sound engineering. Proficient with synthesizers, samplers, bass guitar, and vocals, he brings his 15 years of experience to an ever-expanding lineup of pop, rock, and electronic artists, including Liska and Uma Bloo.
Woven with energy, depth, and vivid color, Blanco’s dynamic productions merge electronic instrumentation with drum machines, analog tape techniques, and sweeping string arrangements, creating a sonic palette that’s both daring and evocative. Unafraid to push boundaries, he utilizes unexpected textures to amplify and enhance his collaborators’ artistic visions.
Blanco's 2022 debut, Music for Speculative Fiction, is a three-part soundtrack created for an imaginary film. The narrative traces the journey of a space explorer venturing into the farthest reaches of our solar system and confronting the mysteries of the unknown. Music for Speculative Fiction is a sensory voyage, a diverse landscape ranging from the cold and barren to the warm and lush.
As a location sound engineer, Blanco continues to contribute his skills to both local and national projects. He was a crew member for the Austin Film Society grant-winning short horror comedy, Plant Moms Whether in the studio or on set, his versatile artistry delivers vibrancy to projects of all types.
